£1500 Pounds For Catering Trailer - Is it Worth It?

by Tom

I am thinking about buying a catering trailer for £1500 but it does not have a gas safety, electric certificate or permission to trade ticket.

This person says he bought it and has just kept in his shed for a year as family members were going to run it, but did other things instead.

So my question is can I obtain a permission to trade ticket and gas/electric safety certificates

Buying a Mobile Catering Food Trailer
by: David

You can indeed have a LPG/Electric safety test carried out on this trailer, but if it fails you will have to pay for any work or alterations that need to be carried out.

You could try asking this person to get the trailer tested and have it pass, before it?s sold to you.

Make sure that the chassis is not rotten, and check brakes, tyres, lights and look for signs of general wear and tear of trailer, since it's been sitting in one place for a quite a long time.

As for permission to trade you can only obtain this when you have an actual pitch and landlord who will let you use the land for your business.

Best of luck
