My First Catering Food Truck

My First Catering Food Truck

I just wanted to ask you, if you respond to questions regarding food trucks?

I've been wondering why bakery trucks are not used as food trucks? They are a lot roomier than the regular food trucks. Is there any cons on doing that?

Hi Sixto,

You can if you wish use a catering truck, but be mindful that you may need a 7.5t license - since a normal licence won't do.

My first van was in fact a catering truck, although not a 7.5t, (3.5t) it was much bigger than the average catering van and much more roomier.

The only problem you may face is with parking it and finding a slightly bigger pitch than normal. Your running cost may also be higher as with maintenance, tax and insurance but these are all things that you will need to look into.

It's also worth finding out if event organisers will accept this size of vehicle, as I ONLY say that because you don't really see many about - and there might be a reason for it.

So do you research before you commit to buying one.

Best of luck,

David
