Purchased a Mobile Catering Trailer

by Jamie

Your story is of great motivation to myself, i have recently purchased a mobile catering trailer and have trained a friend so she can work full time for me while i continue with current full time job.

I had a meeting with land owner of a materials supply business which gets a lot of custom, it looks all set for me to start my business trading there, but I'm just nervous on getting enough business.

In order for me to make a profit i need 50 customers a day spending an average of £2.50 each.

Do you think this is achievable from your previous experience and have you any tips in order for me to make this venture a success.

Would really appreciate any of your advice.

Your Catering Business-Cook and Sell
by: Anonymous

Hi Jamie,

This amount is very achievable but it all depends on the quality of food, your pitch, prices how busy, and the service you provide. As you will be employing someone else to run your business it all depends on that person and their ability to sell well and cook nice.

Start by getting some menus and flyers printed with your contact details and a mobile number this will help if people want to make a phone order.Apart form this it's really going to be down to word of mouth and how good the food will taste and the service which is offered.

I'll also end by saying try and offer value with your service e.g a voucher for your loyal customers which give them a discount when they spend over £10 or something, may be a free coffee, tea or can drink.(make yourself stand out)

Anyway the best of luck with your new business, keep me updated

Regards
David
