Setting up Gas Generator

by Lucy
(Kent, England)

Hiya,

Great website, we have found out so much information already, so thank you in advance!
Were trying to set up a small catering business and have recently bought a 4.7 kva super silent generator.

It can run on petrol and gas but we want to run it on gas as it's quieter etc. However were struggling to find information on setting it all up and wondered if you could give us any plain english guidance on how to set up the LPG gas canister to the generator?

Also where would be the best place to purchase a canister, do you know?

We are really new to all of this as you can probably tell (!) and would appreciate any info you can give us.

Thanks
Lucy

LPG Generator Info
by: David

Hi Lucy,

Good to hear from you. I would contact a specialist who can advise you appropriately such as: www.edgetechnology.co.uk I got my LPG conversion kit from them (petrol generator to LPG) a while back and they will advise you accurately.

They should also be able to help you with some guidance and supply the correct hosing, regulators and fuel controller if it needs it. Just make sure if you’ve had it (or someone else) has had it running on Petrol that it’s fully drained of any excess Petrol.

Also any Calor gas supplier should be able to supply you with a LPG bottle, search the net of calor gas supplier +name of your city or town and some local businesses should come up.

Best of luck,
David
